Nose: The 2009 Swallow Hill is bright and lifted showing aromas of citrus blossom and tropical fruit. Behind these initial aromas is the typical herbaceousness so often seen in Sauvignon Blanc. Palate: The palate for this wine has surprisingly powerful flavours of tropical fruit and lime. There is some lovely texture to the palate from short term lees maturation. Enjoy this wine in it's youth to fully appreciate the lively fruit aomatics and flavours. The Jezebel is not named for a real person or place! The name personifies the wine...seductive, a beautiful body and good to hang onto. The grapes were harvested from two sites on the steep red gravel slopes of the Sinclair vineyard in the cool climate Manjimup region.
The 'painted lady' is in a new guise with this vintage. The wine is more refined but still lusciously full flavoured blend with great persistence of flavour. The blend is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon with a generous dollop of Merlot (24%) to provide the feminine softness.
